Hamburg rules of mediation for economic conflicts

The Hamburg rules of mediation for economic conflicts (hereinafter the ”Hamburg Rules of Mediation–) govern a voluntary procedure for the extrajudicial resolution of conflicts.The mediation procedure is an alternative to court proceedings, arbitration proceedings or conciliation proceedings.In the mediation procedure, the aim is for the parties to the proceedings to themselves reach a solution to their conflict which is fair to all interests.

The Hamburg Rules of Mediation are aided in terms of content and supported in their application by:

• The Hamburg Chamber of Commerce;
• the Hanseatische Rechtsanwaltskammer Hamburg (professional association of Hamburg lawyers); and
• the Hamburger Institut für Mediation e. V.
